Old Shirt --> Cute Bag --> No Plastic in the Ocean
The idea behind "Bags for the Ocean" is simple. We're trying to keep plastic out of the ocean (and all the other places it doesn't belong). How do we do it? Check out the steps below!
|
1. We collect shirts.
We all have them: t-shirts we just don't wear anymore. Instead of letting them clutter up your closet or fill your dresser drawers, you can donate them to Bags for the Ocean and we'll put them to good use. (Shirts that can't make a great bag will be donated.) |
2. We make bags.
We use our mad sewing skills (okay, it's sewing in a strait line) to turn your t-shirt into a reusable tote. These totes are perfect for groceries or carrying for errands each day. They're soft, foldable, and strong, and since they're made from reusable materials, they're waste-free! |
3. You save the ocean.
You buy one of our bags because you're awesome. That saves the ocean in two ways! First, it replaces your usual plastic bags, which often end up in our waterways. Second, we donate 100% of our profits to charities and organizations that clean trash out of the oceans. |
Bags for the Ocean is a small, student-run organization based in the San Francisco area. We're little, but we have big goals! If you want to help, please contact us! We would love to hear from you.
